November Newsletter

This month I am going to send my Newsletter in the format of a Blog!

So you ask... What is a Blog?

A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log.

The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.”

Go to http://help.blogger.com/ and start your own. Have fun with it. Of course you can call or email E-Connection if you have any problems!

My other 'helpful hint' of the month is; Did you ever want to know how to get rid of those pesky Microsoft error messages that pop up on your screen? Read the next blog below!

Recently I was asked about GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search engine, similar to Google, but they donate 50% percent of their revenues to the charity of your choice. Read more further on down this blog.

Microsoft Error Pop-up Window

Do you ever have problems with a little window that pops up and asks to report the error to Microsoft?

Want to know how to stop it?

To get rid of that pesky request from Uncle Bill;

Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and choose Properties. In the System Properties window that appears, go to the Advanced tab and click Error Reporting. You have a few options. You could Disable error reporting. This will make any crashing program's window simply close itself. Poof! No explanation of what happened. You could also click But Notify Me When Critical Errors Occur, but it might be even safer (and less confusing down the road) if you select Enable Error Reporting and Choose Programs to exclude only your commonly crashing program.

Good Search as Your Search Engine

GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50-percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept. Advertisers pay a fee whenever Internet users click on a given link.

You use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine (like Google); to research a topic on the internet. Because it’s powered by Yahoo!, you get proven search results. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers. Last year search engines generated almost $6 billion through such searches.
